András Szûcs

Dr András Szûcs (born 1956) graduated as a bio-engineer in 1980. After ten years of teaching at the Budapest University of Technology, he held international posts as Director of the EU TEMPUS programme in Hungary (1990-1995), Director of of the EU Phare Central-Eastern European Distance Education Programme (1994-96), and Director of the European Communication Strategy Programme of the Hungarian Government (1996). He was the Executive Director (from 1997) and Secretary General (from 2000) of EDAN (European Distance Education Network- now European Distance and E-Learning Network).
He has been Director of the Distance Education Centre of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics since September 2000.
He was Secretary General (1996-97), and is President (since 1998) of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Association of Industrial Parks.
Since 2005, delegated member of the Consultative Committee on Industrial Change of the European Economic and Social Committee.
