Peter Nowak is an award-winning journalist and best-selling author specialising in technology and its effect on culture. He has been a reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, National Post and New Zealand Herald and his work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Boston Globe, Sydney Morning Herald and South China Morning Post, among others. In 2009, he was honoured for excellence in science and technology reporting by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance and in 2006 he was named technology journalist of the year by the Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand. His first book, "Sex, Bombs and Burgers: How War, Porn and Fast Food Created Technology as We Know It" was published in March 2010 and is available in five countries. Peter is born and raised in Toronto but spent several years working abroad in China and New Zealand. He currently lives in Toronto.
