A native of California, Peter Isackson was educated at UCLA and Oxford University (UK). He has conducted his professional career principally in France where he has lived since 1972.
Mr. Isackson is an expert in pedagogy, intercultural strategies and skills, language learning, multimedia and eLearning, author of more than fifteen innovative multimedia courses. Over the past 15 years he has been active in three areas:
- creating, producing and publishing pedagogic multimedia, particularly in the field of language learning,
- developing e-learning systems and strategies,
- consulting and collaboration on strategies for the development of intercultural skills.
His professional career began in the field of language learning and pedagogy as a free-lance consultant in the corporate training field (language learning and intercultural training), content designer and teacher trainer. He collaborated with corporate clients, publishers and training organisations. In 1985 he began developing technology-based pedagogic products and services for the Thomson Group. In 1988 he launched Interaxis, a French publisher of a catalogue of interactive laserdiscs for professional training. In 1991 he created Confluence Multimedia specialised in language courses (English and French). In 1997 he began working with the team specialised in the development of collaborative eLearning tools: ClassLeader (U.S. and France). In 2002 he founded Didaxis (Paris) a company specialised in consulting and design linked to innovative methods of training that integrate technology.
Peter Isackson is an expert for the European Commission’s R&D programme in linguistics, pedagogy and the use of technology for training. He has participated in numerous European projects.
