Joël Fisler

Joël Fisler works since 2006 at the Multimedia and E-Learning Services (MELS) of the University of Zurich. His tasks cover supporting the open source learning management system OLAT and the continuing development of eLML, the eLesson Markup Language (Content Creation Framework). Both OLAT and eLML are strategic e-learning tools at the University of Zurich. He originally studied environmental sciences at the Federal Institute of Technoly ETH Zurich and graduated in 2000 with a thesis about climate change simulations. From 2001 to 2003 he was living with his family in Puebla (Mexico) and working as an IT/Internet-specialist at a German school. Since coming back to Switzerland in 2003 he is working for the University of Zurich: until 2006 for the Department of Geography as the coordinator of the GIS e- learning project called "GITTA" and since then as a member of the OLAT- team at the Multimedia and E-Learning Services.
