Han Fraeters

Han Fraeters works for the World Bank Institute (WBI) in Washington, DC. He manages the central hub of the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN), a partnership of 120 learning centers world-wide who collaborate in holding blended learning events that bring together people across countries around development issues. He is also responsible for WBI's Multimedia Center, which has the mandate to increase the impact and reach of WBI's capacity development activities through the use of blended learning methodologies and multimedia tools.

Before he joined the Bank and started to focus on the challenges and opportunities of e-learning in the context of international development, Han worked for many years as an E-Learning Consultant in Europe. He advised government agencies, private companies and universities on their e-learning and distance learning strategies and worked as a writer and producer for many educational multimedia products. Han holds an MA in Linguistics and in Media & Information Sciences, both from the University of Leuven in Belgium.
