Thea Payome is editor en chief, managing director and co-publisher of the online-portal CHECKpoint eLearning (www.checkpoint-elearning.com). She is an expert in German, European and international eLearning topics.
Born in 1961, she studied political science at the Munich University for Political Sciences focusing on international politics. At the same time she completed her practical journalistic education as specialised publishing trainee. She completed her master studies in “Advanced Journalistic Education“at the FU Berlin as Licentiata rerum publicarum (Lic.rer.publ.). Besides different stages in the print journalist sector, she also worked for radio broadcasting and documentary film. From 1997 on she focused on economic topics such as the New Economy within the eLearning sector and became departmental manager for “Startup & Finance“ for NET-Investor published by NET-Investor in 1999 and changed to “International Markets” in 2001. In May 2001 she was awarded the journalist award within the German Startup Business Day Berlin. In February 2004, she also received the European eLearning Award (eureleA) together with her partner Birgit Gamböck.
