Petr Hercik

Mgr. Petr Hercik, born in 1975, graduated from the University of Hradec Králové with a master’s degree in Social Sciences and English in 1998. Since then he has worked at the Charles University in Prague, at the Institute for Language and Professional Studies as a senior lecturer and a director of English section at the Department of Foreign Languages. In 2004 he became a director of the Laboratory of Distant Studies which specialises in e-learning language courses. He has coordinated several projects funded by the Czech Ministry of Education and an EU project called @languages funded by the programme Leonardo da Vinci. All these projects have focused on e-learning language courses. He has attended many local and international e-learning and language conferences where the courses have been presented. He has published a textbook on English grammar and a large number of articles on e‑learning. At the moment he is in the last year of his doctoral studies in the field of andragogy and e‑learning.
