Ilona Buchem

Dr. Ilona Buchem is a researcher in the project “Mediencommunity 2.0” at Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. The research project focuses on the development of a Web 2.0-based learning community for the print and media industry in Germany. Her resposibilities include the conception of a didactical framework for the emerging community,  the implemention and evaluation of Web 2.0-based learning scenarios as well as didactical research and assessment.

Prior to taking up the position of a researcher at Mediencommunity 2.0, Ilona Buchem worked as a translator and corporate language trainer integrating innovative blended learning concepts. She was also involved in designing and implementing train-the-trainer programs with the focus on incorporation of educational technology into language teaching. Having gained a broad expertise in e-Learning and instructional design she worked as a research fellow in the area of educational technolgogy in personnel training at Daimler AG in Berlin and published her dissertation on competence development in sales.

She is the co-author of PAS 1093 at the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), which is a Publicly Available Specification on competency modelling in human resource development.

Ilona Buchem  is also an enthusiastic blogger and twitterer on ICT-based pedagogy and instructional design.

Ilona Buchem graduated with a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw (Poland), Concordia University (WI, USA) and University Duisburg-Essen (Germany). She studied Educational Science at Humboldt University in Berlin and obtained her PhD degree in Adult and Business Education in 2009.
