Terhi-Maija Itkonen-Isakov
Dr Terhi-Maija Itkonen-Isakov is the leader of E-team Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences since 2008. Her role involves securing the pedagogical support, new research projects and networks into blended and distance learning. The E-team Helsinki Metropolia offers pedagogical support, explores pedagogical concepts and develops blended learning solutions.Dr Itkonen-Isakov has held academic staff positions at University of Helsinki and Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia between 1998 and 2008. Her research focuses on the problems between two dimensional and three dimensional spaces, changing role of subjects in changing environments, social media and e-portfolios. She is currently involved in Finnish Online UAS and in a research project focusing on new learning environments. She was previously project manager for EU project Solfa.net developing distance learning for music education, and for Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia’s project Virtual Fitting as Department Store’s Service Concept. She has also been involved in projects for youth work and lifelong learning in virtual and 3D environments.
