Prof Krämer is a full professor of software engineering at FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany. He is also a member of the Board of Regents of his university the chairman of the Scientific Academy for Service Technology (ServTech). He is interested in research in service-oriented computing, component-based software engineering and learning technology. Major research projects in the latter area include: the 4th Framework project EuropeMMM that developed a custom publishing system enabling the choice, composition and delivery of multimedia material for educational purposes via the Internet; the 5th Framework project CUBER that developed an Internet-based curriculum broker; an m-learning project that created custom-designed e-learning content for mobile phones; and CampusContent, which is funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG) and develops a distributed competence center and portal for reusable learning assets including content and codified pedagogical experiences.
