Marianna Leikomaa
Marianna Leikomaa is a senior English lecturer at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, who at the moment mainly teaches English for Business Information Systems students. She first became interested in e-learning in the late 1990s, through developing interactive learning materials, but has since transferred her interest more towards developing pedagogical solutions in both on-line and class-room education. Recently, she has become increasingly interested the way the students could be taught the important working life meta-skills while studying other subjects at the same time. One of her main interests is collaborative learning and working in groups. In addition to a number of Finnish events, she presented the paper “Collaborative Knowledge Construction in Online Vocational Teacher Education“ at SITE 2009. In addition to her work as an English teacher, she has offered staff training in several places on e-learning and using collaborative on-line tools.
