Svetlana was born and grew up in Moscow, got her major in psychology and then worked in variety of organisations, schools, colleges, a TV company, audience research firm and an advertising agency. She joined British American Tobacco in Moscow in 1996 as Marketing Research manager. The international part of her career began in 2000 with the move to East Africa, where, based in Nairobi, she was looking after marketing research and information across 13 markets. In 2000 Svetlana moved to BAT global head-office in London, where she worked in the area of marketing insights and innovations. In 2007 she took over the position of Global Marketing Development manager, responsible for learning and development within the marketing function across the world (over 30000 people). Svetlana is interested in culture and arts, classical music, opera, ballet, fine dining, swimming, cycling, power walking, languages, travelling and reading either non-fictional serious books (e.g. ‘Brief History of Mankind’) or escapist genre (like Harry Potter). She is addicted to gadgets and fascinated with modern technology (has 4 iPODs, iMAC and iPhone). Svetlana speaks Russian, English, French and Spanish and is learning Mandarin.  She enjoys good conversations and is not good at small talk. Svetlana is an INTG MBTI type.
