Adam's background is as a highly experienced documentary film-maker whose work has been broadcast on major channels all over the world. In recent years he has brought his skills to the eLearning market, bringing high quality video materials to interactive projects for clients such as the BBC, University for Industry and the UK government. Adam is the only outside film-maker to have worked with British Military's Special Forces. He is currently Head of Programmes at Tinopolis, one of the UK's leading independent producers of television and new media. Adam led the Tinopolis team who became the largest suppliers to the BBC's Jam eLearning project, winning over €7 million of commissions. The Tinopolis team produced pioneering work in the fields of user generated learning and embedding video in a meaningful way.
Adam is a graduate of Cambridge and Cardiff universities. He worked for the BBC for over ten years, producing films for landmark BBC series like Panorama and the Money Programme as well as special documentaries for BBC1 and BBC2. Adam's films and series on police corruption in London, the peace process in Northern Ireland, big game hunting in Africa and the economic history of the world have been syndicated to broadcasters all over the globe including PBS, France 5, RTE and Arte. Adam's filming work has taken him to six continents from the mountains of Peru to the deserts of Iraq, the jungles of Namibia to the Russian Arctic Circle. Adam is a Trustee and Board Member of Artes Mundi – the biennial international contemporary art prize. Amongst other things he is currently working with the UK Government's Cabinet Office on its behavioural insight project.
Adam is also passionate about bringing high quality video and storytelling to eLearning, believing it to be one of the most potent ways of engaging learners. Adam has presented at a variety of international conferences and film festivals. He is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
Adam has a long term interest in education in Africa. In 2010 he launched, with co-founder Stephen Haggard, the African Digital Diaries project at the E-Learning Africa conference in Lusaka. Adam is a member of the E-Learning Africa Advisory Board.
When he is not working in television, eLearning and public affairs, Adam lives in Zanzibar where he keeps a herd of goats and manages a football team.
