“Grasping” Learning Ecosystems

As the world has undergone tremendous change throughout the last two years it became evident that traditional concepts of organising learning and development have reached their limits. An emerging concept for organising learning and development are “Learning Ecosystems”.
This panel session introduces a conceptual model as a frame of reference for understanding what is meant by “learning ecosystems”, what learning ecosystems are not, and which dimensions need to be considered in the implementation process. Following this introduction, the session shared best practices from different L&D practitioners.

As a Business Development Manager and Digital Ambassador at SAP Training and Adoption I help our customers and partners to get the most out of our services & software. May it be a better innovation adoption, higher productivity, increased knowledge transfer or engagement. A key goal is to improve our customers digital journeys and learning experience. Before this role I was product manager for Education Software, earlier I led the SAP internal learning and development team responsible for strategic learning programs and new media.
I am passionate about learning, collaboration and all facets from people development, talent management, social media, learning technology/ EdTech, coaching, knowledge management up to machine learning in learning & education. I also try to reflect and share my experiences via blogs, articles, books or presentations at conferences. Actually this is a great way for me to learn also.

Lutz Marten

Dr. Lutz Marten is with working in IBM Corporation for 20 plus years. In his actual scope of responsibility in IBM Transformation & Culture he is the squad leader of leadership consultants and facilitators for Europe & MEA regions. His focus is on Leadership & Management Development starting at the aspiring manager population and reaching up to the senior executive level in IBM. Before Lutz joined IBM Corporate Learning, for about 10 years he was a consultant and manager with IBM Global Business Services, in different areas of expertise and in different industries.
Lutz studied Computer Sciences and at RWTH Aachen and received his doctoral degree while working with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Aachen. He is senior member of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and GI (Gesellschaft für Informatik).
