Learning Café

EnABLing Future-Focused Design for Active Blended Learning

Date Thursday, Nov 24  Time   –    Room Tiergarten I/II/III

EnABLe is the University of Portsmouth's framework to support team-based learning design at module and programme levels. It provides a scalable, collaborative way to focus on curriculum enhancements, resulting in changes and plans for modules or programmes that can easily feed into institutional review processes.

In this collaborative Learning Café, participants will engage with enABLe facilitators and with each other to review and redesign modules or programmes, as applicable to their contexts. Delegates will be introduced to the enABLe toolkit and guided through a sample enABLe workshop. Through meaningful discussion and directed activities, participants will identify their shared values, and utilise the enABLe toolkit resources to draft a storyboard, identify, and plan enhancements.

Outcomes

  • Engage in a creative, team-based approach to building institutional capability in learning design.
  • Attempt to (re)design a module or short course in a hands-on, participant-focused, collaborative way.
  • Reflect on how approaches such as enABLe can inform policy and practice at your institution.
  • Gain an understanding of Active Blended Learning in Higher Education.
