The Higher Education landscape is undergoing dramatic change, with traditional institutions finding it harder to adapt and evolve to the needs of such a landscape. This change is experienced by all education providers, from established and long-existing elite players to new private business schools; whether they serve a global or a local market.
This impactful change has disrupted the sector, with institutions and providers reaching out to new partners and collaborating differently to support their transformation, at times seeking engagement with start-ups an entrepreneurs with the aim to trigger entrepreneurship from within the institution. This may takes them on a challenging journey.

Martin Henrik Andresen
Project Manager Learning Innovation, BI Norwegian Business School, Norway
Martin Henrick Andresen is a Project Manager and mLearning Specialist at BI Norwegian Business School, Norway’s largest business school. With a business-development background from media, Andresen was challenged to use technology to disrupt existing methods of teaching. Andresen has explored the opportunities in mobile micro learning in the higher education industry.

Carla Aerts
Director of Futures, UCL Institute of Education, UK
Carla started her international digital career pioneering in the digital media landscape around 30 years ago.
She has worked for international publishers, digital agencies, had her own consultancy, developed digital strategies, directed programmes & partnered on digital initiatives with Blue Chip Clients in Retail, Finance, Telecomms, Healthcare and Life Sciences.
Carla has also worked with a number of start-ups in Healthcare, Technology and Lifestyle.
Having developed e-learning programmes for Healthcare and being asked by an international education publisher to manage their transition from the printed textbook to online and blended learning, Carla got totally absorbed by the e-Learning & blended education. She worked on learning innovation for and with a number of education publishers, before going to Cambridge University Press where she developed digital learning strategies and product concepts as Global Digital Director.
Carla advises e-learning start-ups including Gojimo in the UK and AhadooTec in Ethiopia and is a mentor for Wedu Rising Star.
In February 2016, Carla joined the Institute of Education - UCL London as Director of Futures.
