TitleResponding to the Changing World of Work
DescriptionThe changing way in which businesses are working, brought about by the communications revolution and more recently the financial crisis, is forcing e-learning practitioners to take a fresh look at how technology can be best used to support learning. What is the best way to use ICT to reduce the cost of training and how can we best embed e-learning to enhance workplace performance? In a world where many company training budgets are stagnant or being reduced and there is increased emphasis on return on investment, can approaches incorporating open source solutions, thin computing, virtual environments, videoconferencing, informal learning and other strategies make the difference for cash-strapped organisations while still maintaining a fit and effective workforce?
