This session offers strategies to prepare teacher trainers for the use of modern media. | Demographic changes, the shift towards green strategies, as well as ever-changing technologies all have strategic implications on public-sector spending on skills development. In this session, experts discuss the potential impact these factors have on government agencies looking to improve re-skilling opportunities in a fast-changing society. | Are open source solutions the answer to an institution’s online learning needs in a time of recession? This session debates how institutions implement low-budget solutions for their e-learning projects, focusing on open source integrated solutions and on how to combine these, thus offering an interesting comparison between commercial and open possibilities. | This session highlights the latest developments in semantic tools and applications. It will show examples of semantic web services created using Latent Semantic Analysis, semantic labelling and single-sourcing applications in an eMBA and a new approach for collaborative knowledge based on the characteristics of semantic wikis. |
