Companies spend large amounts of money on training each year. Yet the evidence is that a very little of it results in improved workforce performance and better business results. The current global economic melt-down has put even more pressure on budgets and the need for learning to become business-critical. Corporate learning managers are finding themselves in a difficult position where their contribution to organisational development has never been greater.
This session will be in the format of an experience discussion between participants and panellists, all of whom are members of the Internet Time Alliance, a think-tank and consultancy organisation that addresses these problems daily and helps organisations leverage informal learning to deliver the optimal execution and creative innovation necessary to thrive now and in the future.
Participants will be invited to share their stories and views about the major obstacles for corporate learning and what works for them, and to engage in dialogue with the panellists and others.
Unconferences are facilitated, participant-driven sessions centered on a theme chosen on the spot by participants. This Unconference, facilitated by two of the world’s leading thinkers on corporate learning and development issues, will centre around the theme Creating the New Era of Corporate Learning and explore specific challenges and opportunities for corporate learning professionals.
The Unconference format is very very interactive. Be prepared to participate, to ask questions, to share and talk about your own experiences, and to learn from others.
